I don't see why this is an issue, in the real world they share the same type rating and other than having different engines and slightly different avionics options they are the same aircraft. Additionally there are no NEO aircraft suitable to fly. I don't think this should be an issue as long as I am using the same type of aircraft. This should be addressed in the SOP.
