Soft Landing Program

To participate in this program, you will need to have flown flights for AAVirtual on the VATSIM network in the previous 2 years. We are currently offering pilots who have flown 10 flights on the VATSIM network with "AAVirtual.net" in the comments section of their flightplan a "Direct Entry Captain" position. This means that if you have flown 10 flights on the VATSIM network with the required remarks, you will be upgraded to Captain in the specific group that was assigned during registration instead of First Officer. This places you closer to the next higher rank and allows a faster path to the next fleet group offered. Qualifying flights must have been completed in the previous 2 years and before September 21, 2023 and have the specific link in the comments section of the flightplan.

To simulate the real-world operations of American Airlines and to put emphasis on our model of expanding on the knowledge brought over to the airline, we currently do not place new hires into Group III directly. By taking part in our Soft Landing program, you would be able to be placed into Group I or II as a First Officer initially based on the SOPPHB section 3.4 Promotions, and then be able to be promoted automatically to Captain in the assigned group after completing the form with proof of your 10 VATSIM flights flown with the required remarks. After this, you would then be able to participate in our currently posted "Vacancy" program that allows current members, for a limited time, to be able to fast track one additional rank.

vAAirlines was started by real world members of the American Airlines Group with a focus on creating a community that features more of a career and knowledge-based progression instead of simply flying for x amount of hours to progress. Our main goal is to build on the knowledge you already possess or to build a baseline that will help to propel your career whether that be a virtual one, or a real one. We do not limit your flying in the sense of if you would like to fly online, offline, or even on a non-partnered network, and will never require you or offer any kind of status, perk, or paywall for any of our content (one of our current ACARS partners does offer a premium feature, but we do not gain any of the proceeds for it and it's purchase is completely optional for the user). All in all, we are an established virtual airline community that has been here since 2020 who has made sure to put our members first while offering the most realistic experience possible for simulating the day-to-day operations of the real world American Airlines. We are looking to change the norm for virtual airlines with things such as our Aviator Appreciation Program and Check Airman Program that provide unique opportunities for you!
